THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, MAY 4 . The Congress leaders and workers have geared up for the party president, Sonia Gandhi's election tour in the State. Ms. Gandhi's election campaign on the penultimate lap for the May 10 election is expected to give a fillip to the UDF's campaign wagon. Ms. Gandhi's election venues have been selected rather carefully, with an eye on the south Kerala voters. Ms. Gandhi is slated to address three of her four rallies in Central and South Kerala. She is expected to arrive by a special plane at the Thiruvananthapuram airport by 10-30 a.m. She would address a public meeting at 11 a.m. at the Thiruvananthapuram Central Stadium. After the meeting in the State capital, Ms. Gandhi would fly to Kochi. From the Nedumbasserry airport, she would take a helicopter to Thiruvalla for her public meeting in the nerve centre of Central Travancore politics. Her Thiruvalla meeting has been scheduled for 1 p.m.. From Thiruvalla, she would land in Kochi for her public meeting at the Indira Gandhi international stadium. Ms. Gandhi would return to the Nedumbasserry airport and then take the road to Kozhikode, which would be her campaign point for the Malabar constituencies. Her election meeting at the Kozhikode beach would start at 4-30 p.m. According to KPCC election spokesman, Joseph Vazhakkan, Ms. Gandhi would return to Delhi at 6 p.m. via Karipur. Mr. Vazhakkan said that there would be no security bar on carrying of umbrellas to the election venues.
