DMK complains against Anna Nagar inspector
By Our Staff Reporter
CHENNAI,
MAY 4.
The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam has written to the Election Commission seeking action against the inspector of the Anna Nagar police station, who, the party alleged, arrested only its party campaigners without any reason.
In a telegram to the Commission, the organisation secretary, T.K.S. Elangovan, said the police detained the partymen and threatened them that cases would be filed against them.
Mr. Elangovan said the ``high-handed and vindictive action of the inspector, under pressure from the ruling partymen,'' may create unrest in the constituency.
