Alert on diseases

By Our Staff Reporter

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, MAY 4. The district medical administration has sounded an alert on the outbreak of infectious diseases like leptospirosis, dengue fever and diarrhoeal diseases, in the aftermath of summer rains.

People should take care to keep their houses and surroundings clean and to dispose of garbage properly. Stale food and food left in the open should not be consumed and water should be boiled before drinking. Rainwater should not be allowed to stagnate around houses as it could aid in mosquito breeding.
