Dr. C. Popp, Chief Engineer of Demag, arrived in Bombay on May 4 from Geneva by Air India International on his way to Delhi. Dr. Popp will submit to the Government of India the preliminary report on the proposed Rs.72-crore steel plant of Hindustan Steel Limited to be set up at Rourkela in Orissa jointly by the Government of India and Krupp and Demag, the German firm. Two other members of the German firm are expected to reach Delhi. Dr. Popp told pressmen at the Santa Cruz airport that he along with his other colleagues would discuss the details of the report with Government officials in Delhi. After two weeks' stay in India, Dr. Popp will proceed to Egypt where his firm has undertaken the work of setting up a similar steel plant.
