Business Line celebrates Mumbai launch

By Our Staff Correspondent

Mumbai. May 5. The tenth anniversary of The Hindu Business Line, and the launch of its Mumbai edition, were marked simultaneously by an elegant dinner function here on Tuesday night in which the leading lights of Mumbai's corporate world, and other celebrities, took part.

Addressing the gathering, N. Ram, Editor-in-Chief of The Hindu Group, said: ``Business Line has had its tenth anniversary and now we have... a long-overdue edition here. No financial publication can be complete without having a presence in the financial capital of the country.''

K. Venugopal, Executive Editor, said: ``We were born ten years ago as a sibling to a venerable, century-old paper. Factual reporting is in our genes and sobriety is the soul of the paper.''

He added: ``When we launched in Chennai 10 years ago, India was coming to grips with economic liberalisation. We now have an edition in Mumbai which is not only the financial capital of India but among the leading financial capitals of the world.''
