Khammam boy bags second rank

KHAMMAM, MAY. 5. M. Narendra, MPC student from the New Generation Junior College in the town bagged the State second rank in the first year Intermediate examination the results of which were declared on Wednesday.

He secured 463 marks. Another MPC student V. Shankar Rao of the same junior college secured seventh rank with 458 marks.

Mr. Narendra said he owed his success to the inspiration drawn from his parents and the support of the teachers of the educational institution he studied in. He said his father, Venkateswarlu, a Life Insurance Corporation employee, helped him in every way to score the highest.

A tribal student B. Prasad from Srichaitanya Junior College, Khammam, secured the State first rank with 431 marks in Bi.P.C stream, according to the college authorities.

The boy said it was a dream coming true for him as well as his family.

He said his father, who was just a farm worker had to put in a great deal of hard work to send him to college. He wanted to become a doctor to serve the poor. He said he could get equal support from the educational institution as well.

Another student, D. Prasad of the same college secured State fourth rank in MPC. His father was working as a Kalasi in a private Sugar factory near Kallur. The boy wants to become a computer engineer.

The Krishnaveni College in Kothagudem also secured ranks in the first year MPC stream. K. Sudharani and B. Ramya of the college secured sixth rank with 458 marks while Tasneem and Murali krishna got seventh and eighth ranks with 457 and 456 marks respectively.
