NEW DELHI, MAY 6. The Janata Dal (United) leader, Sharad Yadav, today lead a delegation to the Election Commission seeking repoll in 201 polling booths in Madhepura, Bihar. He alleged that supporters of the ruling Rashtriya Janata Dal had indulged in massive rigging during the May 5 polls. Mr. Yadav, who contested against the RJD president, Laloo Prasad Yadav, in Madhepura, said that nearly two lakh persons had been deprived of their voting rights due to the lack of photo identity card or because their names were missing from the voters' list. The JD(U) team, comprising the sitting MP from Sitamarhi, Nawal Kishore Rai, and the party general secretaries, Shiv Kumar, Javed Raza and Arun Srivastava, sought repolling in 114 booths in Balia, 130 in Saharsa, 87 in Banka, 127 in Munger and 59 in Sitamarhi. The team alleged that the Block Development Officers of the Udakishanganj and Singheswar Assembly segments of Madhepura were seen "helping" the RJD. Talking to presspersons, Mr. Yadav said the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) would remain united despite apprehensions that smaller parties would walk away if the combine was unable to win a majority. The JD(U) leader said the NDA would improve its tally. In Bihar, he said the NDA would win 28 of the 40 seats like in the previous elections.
