PCS' software for courier industry

HYDERABAD: PCS Industries, part of the Rs. 1,500 crore Patni group, has announced the launch of its application software `trackyourpack.com', designed to meet the requirement of the courier industry.

The web based application (based on ASP model) helps monitor movement of consignments in transit on a `real time basis' and is targeting courier companies which have no access to this kind of solution, said A. S. Velpanur, Vice-President, Software Business Unit, PCS, at a press conference here on Friday. It has a `per transaction based fee' revenue model, and the company is targeting 10 per cent of courier companies over a period of 18 months. It has tied-up with two companies, and is in advanced stages of negotiations with three more in Kerala and one in Mumbai. Mr. Velpanur said it would be marketed in the U.K., Far East, Middle East and African countries by the year-end.
