UCO Bank profit up

CHENNAI: UCO Bank has achieved a net profit of Rs. 435.41 crores for the year ended March 31, 2004 against Rs. 207.49 crores in the previous year. The operating profit has risen to Rs. 948.40 crores from Rs. 624.04 crores. Interest income has increased to Rs. 3,096 crores from Rs. 2,793 crores. Net interest income has improved by 35.4 per cent to Rs. 1,194 crores from Rs. 882 crores. Total income was up 9.4 per cent at Rs. 3,722 crores. Net NPA level has declined to 3.65 per cent from 4.36 per cent. he bank has proposed a 10 per cent dividend subject to the RBI's approval.
