Cloudy sky

CHENNAI, MAY 7. The sky on Saturday will be generally cloudy with one or two showers or thundershowers in some area. On Friday, Nungambakkam recorded a maximum temperature of 33.1 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 25.8. It recorded a rainfall of 2.6 mm and a humidity level of 84 per cent.

At Meenambakkam, the maximum was 32.4 and the minimum 25.7 degrees Celsius. It recorded a rainfall of 1.8 mm and a humidity level of 82 per cent.

Power cut

Power supply will be suspended in parts of Flower Bazaar and Park Town on Sunday from 10 a.m. for maintenance work.

Pollution level

Pollutants such as respirable suspended particulate matter and oxides of nitrogen and sulphur were all below permissible limit at traffic intersections in Kilpauk and T. Nagar, according to the readings of the ambient air quality-monitoring programme of Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board. The readings were taken for the 24-hour period beginning 6 a.m on Thursday.

Blood donated

About 135 volunteers donated blood at a camp held by Tata Consultancy Services at Sholinganallur on Tuesday. The camp was organised in coordination with Rotary Central TTK VHS Blood Bank.
