NEW DELHI, MAY 7. The former Union Minister and Congress candidate from the Delhi Sadar constituency, Jagdish Tytler, today accused his rival and BJP candidate, Vijay Goel, of misusing his official position to get land worth crores allotted to himself and his family members. "I fear that Mr. Goel and his musclemen will indulge in violence on polling day and I have sought immediate deployment of additional poll observers and Central security forces in the constituency for conduct of free and fair polls,'' he said. Talking to newsmen here, Mr. Tytler said Mr. Goel was also using money and muscle power to win the polls. Stating that he was a "Member of Parliament on the run'', Mr. Tytler said Mr. Goel was in the habit of changing his constituency whenever he felt things were getting a bit difficult for him. "He has inducted musclemen from the adjoining area of Delhi and they are moving around in the constituency threatening Congress workers and are likely to intimidate voters on the polling day. The police are also not playing a positive role and are working to help Mr. Goel's cause. I have written to the Chief Electoral Officer of Delhi to ensure free and fair election by seeking deployment of Central security forces in the constituency instead of the Delhi police,'' he stated. Reading out a virtual chargesheet against his opponent, Mr. Tytler alleged that Mr. Goel had misused his position and access in the Prime Minister's office to get land allotted for his family for running a school at Pitampura. He said Mr. Goel misused his connections to get land allotted for a society called "Toy Land'' that is registered in the name of his father, wife and sister-in-law. Land worth crores was allotted at the Deen Dayal Upadhaya Marg. Accusing Mr. Goel of indulging in forgery, Mr. Tytler said that a book has been brought out named ``Hamare Vijay Goel'' that has a letter written by the former Chief Minister, Madan Lal Khurana. However, he alleged that the signatures of Mr.Khurana were forged as being the Rajasthan Governor he cannot make any appeal to the voters. ``I challenge Mr. Goel to ask Mr.Khurana to confirm that he has put his signature on the letter.'' The Congress leader said Mr. Goel has been moving around with musclemen during his padyatras and he recently got a known history sheeter released from jail.
