BANGALORE, MAY 7. With the mother and son/daughter sentiment having been worked beyond normal levels of tolerance by film-makers, one was in for a pleasant surprise on Friday. Just before Mother's Day, Ishi's, a jewellery brand, arranged a special collection created for the occasion. Glittering as much as the jewellery were the stars of Kannada film world and their mothers. For those of us who have seen these stars with their "reel" mothers, it was a pleasant surprise to see the real ones and to see how spontaneously they showed their affection for each other. Just for the record, up-and-coming actor, Sudeep, posed with his mother, Saroja, and the actress, Anu Prabhakar, posed with arms tightly around her mother, Gayatri Prabhakar, and Tara was seen hugging her mother, Pushpa Thyagaraj. To make the event more memorable for all, the celebrities had to hunt for hidden pieces of jewellery that they then presented to their mothers. Like to know what the celebrity mothers had to say about their offspring? Ms. Gayatri Prabhakar said: "I wish my daughter all the success she deserves in life." Ms. Pushpa Thyagaraj was happy when Ms. Tara announced that she owed her success to her mother. Mr. Sudeep made this grand statement: "I am thankful she is my mother." Isn't it time for the rest of us to show our affection and gratitude to our mothers?
