COIMBATORE, MAY 8. Even as rainfall subsided on the fifth day in most of the areas in the district, the inflow from wild streams and rivulets led to a considerable improvement in storage in a number of reservoirs. The rainfall in mm recorded at various places: Sholayar 28, Parambikulam 18, Thoonakadavu 15, Peruvaripallam 19, Aliyar 1, Upper Nirar 70, Lower Nirar 38, Upper Aliyar 1, Kadamparai 5, Valparai 11.6, Agricultural University 0.5, Airport 2.4, Mettuppalayam 7, Pollachi 2, Siruvani catchment 20 and Foothills 24. The storage in Siruvani has risen to 863.90 (878.5). The storage has risen by 2.10 m in the last five days and the present storage is 0.40 cm more than last year on the same day. The storage in reservoirs in ft (full storage capacity in brackets): Sholayar 32.05 (160), Parambikulam 5.85 (145), Aliyar 58.80 (120), Thirumurthy 15.51 (60) and Amaravathy 25.52 (90).
