Five employers sentenced under ESI Act

HYDERABAD, MAY 8. The First Class Judicial Magistrate to try offences under the ESI Act, Hyderabad, has sentenced the following employers to a day's imprisonment for non-payment of employees' share after deducting the same from their salaries, besides imposing a fine.

The employers are -- Maruti Plastic, Balanagar, SR Industries, Balanagar, Sri Vasavi Cold, Dowleswaram, Nagarjuna Agro Steel, Tadepally and Sreenivas Spun Concrete, Vizianagaram.

The Regional Director of the Andhra Pradesh Employees State Insurance Corporation appealed to the employers covered under the provisions of ESI Act, 1948, to make compliance within the stipulated time to avoid legal action
