Performs `Chandi yagam'

HYDERABAD, MAY 9. The TRS president, K. Chandrasekhar Rao, performed the `Chandi yagam' at his residence here on Sunday in anticipation of the party winning a good number of Assembly and Lok Sabha seats.

A suggestion to perform the yagam was made to him by a noted seer, Mulugu Ramalingeswara Siddhanti, in order to improve his chances in playing a crucial role in future politics. The Siddhanti sent a communiqué to Mr. Rao stating that he was making the suggestion on information that he followed all customs and therefore was the best person to conduct the yagam.

On Sunday, Mr. Rao went ahead with the yagna, which was performed by purohits in the presence of a few TRS activists.
