NEW DELHI, MAY 9. At the request of the Election Commission, the Delhi Transport Corporation has decided to ply special bus services for the voters of Yamuna Pushta from the areas where they have been relocated to the polling booths on May 10. "The DTC would be plying additional buses on Monday from 6 a.m. and also increase the frequency of its buses already plying between their new residences and previous homes from where they have been evicted," said the Chief Electoral Officer for Delhi, Arun Goyal. After a meeting with senior DTC officials, he said the DTC would be plying buses from Bakkarwala to Raja Bazar and ISBT, Holambi Kalan to Raja Bazar and Laxmi Narain Temple, Holambi Khurd to Raja Bazar and Laxmi Narain Temple, Bawana to Delhi Secretariat, Holambi Kalan to Jal Vihar, Sabhapur to Delhi Secretariat and from Loni Border to Kamla Market. "These are not free services. Commuters will have to pay the normal bus fare," he said. Following a Delhi High Court order, more than 70,000 people have been evicted from the Yamuna Pushta in the past two-three months.
