By Our Staff Reporter PONDICHERRY, MAY 10. A team led by the Deputy Commissioner (Excise), R Anbalagan, seized 5, 000 liquor bottles, valued at Rs. 2 lakhs, at several points in the peripheral pockets of Pondicherry on Sunday. A communication from the Deputy Commissioner said today that the Administration had issued instructions that dry days would be observed from May 8 to 10 and also on May 12 and 13 in view of the parliamentary poll. But, there were alleged attempts by some sections to sell liquor clandestinely. Officers unearthed from inside a hut at Madagadipet and also from a hut on Valudavoor road besides a house at Thakka Kuttai in the Oulgaret block on Sunday a total of 5,000 bottles. Five persons were arrested. The drive would continue during the next few days.
