CHENNAI, MAY 11. Asian Paints India has posted a profit, after prior period adjustments, of Rs. 30.56 crores for the quarter ended March 31, 2004 against Rs. 28.20 crores in the corresponding quarter in the previous year. Total income (net of discounts and excise duty) has increased to Rs. 426.59 crores from Rs. 362.13 crores. The company has posted a profit, after prior period adjustments, of Rs. 147.79 crores for the year ended March 31, 2004 against Rs. 142.01 crores. Total income (net of discounts and excise duty) has increased to Rs. 1,764.14 crores from Rs. 1,588.01 crores. The board has recommended a final divided of 50 per cent for the year ended March 31, 2004. On a consolidated basis, the group has posted a profit attributable to shareholders of Rs. 144.89 crores for the year ended March 31, 2004 against Rs. 139.05 crores.
