Giri bags gold
HYDERABAD,

. P.B. Giri of Central Command stole the honours in the shot put event with an effort of 15.90 m to win the gold in the Army Inter-Command athletics and marathon championship which began at Artillery Centre (Golconda) here on Tuesday.
Praveen Kumar of Southern Command (13.64 m) and Sandeep Kumar of Central Command (13.52 m) finished second and third respectively.
The results:
Shot put: 1. P.B.Giri (Central Command) 15.90 m, 2. Praveen Kumar (Southern Command), 3. Sandeep Kumar (Central Command).
Long jump: 1. Ratish Kumar (Southern Command) 7.17 m, 2. Ravin (Southern Command), 3. Rajender Singh (Central Command).
5000 m: 1. A. Kothari (Central Command) 15:44.39, 2. Ananta Kumar (Southern Command), 3. Ram Singh (Southern Command).
