A word of comfort from a Congressman
By Our Special Correspondent
NEW DELHI,
MAY 11.
The outgoing Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Chandrababu Naidu, got an interesting call this evening from Digvijay Singh, former Chief Minister o f Madhya Pradesh.
The Congressman assured the Telugu Desam chief that the voters' rejection was no reflection on his performance but just an expression of voter fatigue.
Mr. Singh, who presided over Madhya Pradesh for 10 years and was rejected by the voters as comprehensively as the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, also offered Mr. Naidu a membership in a new "10-year anti-incumbency club."
Mr. Naidu promptly accepted the offer. Talk of exclusivity!
