KOCHI, MAY 11 . A three-day IT exhibition will open at the Ernakulam Shiva Temple on May 14. The exhibition, by the All-Kerala Computer Manufacturers' and Dealers' Association (AKCMADA), is being organised with a view to "popularising the use of computers," said the president of the association, P.K. Harikrishnan, here today. Leading hardware companies will take part in the exhibition, which will focus on the latest developments in Information Technology, said Mr. Harikrishnan. The exhibition will highlight the opportunities available to the home segment of computers. "Though there have been many computer and IT exhibitons aimed at the corporate sector, the home computer segment is yet to have such a show," said the secretary of the association, Shaiju Antony. Discussions on various developments in the field of information technology led by experts in the field will be a key feature of programme, he said. Mr. Shaiju Antony said the organisers of the show expected about four lakh visitors to the exhibition, which would be attended by major players like Samsung, Intel, De-Link, Compac, HP, HCL, Wipro and IBM, among others.
