Coastal Football Club in last eight
KAYALPATNAM,
MAY 12.
Coastal Football Club, Thiruvananthapuram entered the quarterfinals of the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad memorial Trophy all India football tournament conducted by United Sports Club defeating P.S.N.A. College of Engineering Football Club, Dindigul 1-0 at the club's ground here on Wednesday.
It was a well contested match and the only goal of the match was scored by Coastal Club Right stopper back Stanley in the 39th minute off a free kick from near the top of the box. The kick was awarded as PSNA goalkeeper Vijayakumar who gathered the ball inside the box with his hands, came out of the penalty area before throwing the ball into play.
In the second half PSNA Club attached strongly and came very near getting the equaliser and more than one occasion but its forwards, especially Rajesh Raja and Prem Edwin frittered away the chances.
