SINGAPORE, MAY 13. The Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Committee on Palestine, meeting at the ministerial level at Putrajaya in Malaysia today, urged the United Nations Security Council to mandate a peace-keeping mission in Palestine. It should cover East Jerusalem as well, the NAM panel said, according to the Malaysian authorities who hosted the one-day session. The Malaysian Foreign Minister, Syed Hamid Albar, told journalists at the conclusion of the meeting that the creation of a sovereign Palestinian State by 2005, as envisioned in the relevant "road map'' for peace in West Asia "is still possible'' and indeed `achievable'.
