PONDICHERRY, MAY 13. The Chief Secretary, R. Padmanabhan, today complimented the official machinery for holding a smooth and peaceful polling in Pondicherry. A release today said that the peaceful polling was highlight of the whole exercise. He said that the Chief Electoral Officer M Sathiyavathi, the Returning Officer V Candavelu, the Assistant Returning officers and other officials deserved to be complimented. The Chief Secretary distributed certificates of appreciation to the officers today.
