Letters to the Editor
Sir, The Karnataka Chief Minister, S.M. Krishna, and the Congress in Karnataka have not got a clear majority. Mr. Krishna should, therefore, refrain from staking claim to form a government. The people of Kerala have expressed their anger over the infighting in the Congress. If the party does not take this verdict seriously, the UDF will be wiped out in the Assembly election due in two years' time. Jacob Varghese, Changanassery, Kerala * * * Sir, The main reason for the Congress not getting a majority on its own in Karnataka is because most of Mr. Krishna's citizen friendly policies and schemes began and ended with Bangalore. Non-Bangaloreans were treated as aliens and second-class citizens. Syed Tanveeruddin, Mysore
