THRISSUR, MAY 13. The renowned freedom fighter and Congress leader, V.R. Krishnanezhuthachan, died this morning at a private hospital here. He was 98. He is survived by four sons and three daughters. Mr. Ezhuthachan was admitted to a hospital with breathing complaints and shivering on Wednesday. He breathed his last around 10 a.m. today. Hailing from an agrarian family, Mr. Ezhuthachan worked for the uplift of the people from the backward sections. He had worked as president of the Kochi Karshaka Sabha and the Kerala Kisan Sabha. He has also worked as a member of the AICC and KPCC. He was elected unopposed to the Kochi Legislature in 1945. Family sources said the last rites would be held at his residence at Avinissery.
