Varsity confers degree on CCMB Director

HYDERABAD,
MAY 13.
Lalji Singh, Director of the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB) has been awarded honorary D.Sc degree by Benaras Hindu University (BHU) in recognition of his significant contribution to the areas of human genetic diversity, DNA fingerprinting technology and wildlife conservation.
The BHU Vice-Chancellor, P. Ramachandra Rao, conferred the degree on him at the university's convocation held recently.
Later, Dr. Singh delivered the convocation address. Prof. Ramachandra Rao said Dr. Singh's illustrious directorship of the CCMB, recently extended till his superannuation, would inspire young graduates to pursue science as a career, according to a CCMB press release.
