Betting racket busted

NEW DELHI,
MAY 13.
Two persons allegedly running a betting racket on the outcome of the 14th Lok Sabha elections were arrested from Paschim Vihar in West Delhi today. The accused had accepted the bids to the tune of Rs. 25 lakhs.
According to the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch), Deependra Pathak, the Department recently received a tip-off that one Suresh Kumar had been running a betting racket on the Lok Sabha elections from his house. On the basis of the electronic surveillance, the police mounted a raid at Suresh's Paschim Vihar residence.
He and his employee, Dinesh, were arrested after the police recovered registers revealing that they were accepting stakes from punters, all of them businessmen.
