Three arrested
Acting on a tip-off that some criminals would come to Pitampura on a motorcycle to commit a robbery, the police laid a trap in the area to intercept the vehicle. Upon spotting the motorcycle, they signalled to the riders to apply the brakes, but the suspects allegedly tried to speed away instead and opened fire at the police party. However, the police managed to overpower all the three and seize the firearm. During interrogation, the accused identified themselves as Diwan Chand, Ajay Kumar and Rajesh.
Nabbed
The accused have been identified as Pritam Singh, Nabbu Miyan and Amir Hassan. The police said the three were trying to cheat one Ashutosh, a resident of Kishanganj, of Rs. 40,000. During interrogation, they disclosed that they searched for their prey mainly in five-star hotels. After alluring them by returning more than double the amount given to them, the accused would ask their prospective victim to deposit more money for more profit and this time they would flee with the money.
