BANGALORE, MAY 13. The Congress candidate from Santhemaranahalli Assembly Constituency in Chamarajanagar district, Dhruvanarayan, created a record by winning the elections by one vote. While Mr. Dhruvanarayan polled 40,752 votes, A.R. Krishna Murthy of the Janata Dal (S) received 40,751 votes. As the victory margin was the minimum, the polling authorities declared the results after re-counting of votes. Mr. Krishna Murthy, a member of the dissolved Assembly, is the son of the former Himachal Pradesh and Kerala Governor, the late B. Rachaiah.
