BIDAR, MAY 14. Four persons were injured in a clash between Congress and Janata Dal (Secular) workers in Aurad taluk on Thursday night. According to the police, some people said to be Janata Dal (S) workers attacked a group of Congress workers who were on their way to garland a statue of B.R. Ambedkar at Mamadapur village at about 9 p.m. A fight ensued, and the former gram panchayat member, Ganapath Rao Rupa and Jagannath Wagmare, younger brother of the zilla panchayat member, Zareppa Mamadapur, were injured. They have been admitted to hospital, the police said. In a complaint, the injured have named five Janata Dal (S) workers. Some Janata Dal (S) workers lodged a complaint against three Congress workers saying they had attacked. Cases have been registered at the Aurad police station.
