TDP candidate ends life

ANANTAPUR,
MAY 14.
Unable to overcome the trauma of defeat in the recent Assembly elections, K.M. Rahamatullah (32), TDP candidate from the Anantapur constituency, committed suicide allegedly by shooting himself in his residence at Ramnagar today. Shocked by her husband's action, Mr. Rahamatullah's wife also allegedly tried to end her life by dousing herself with kerosene but her bid was thwarted by family members.
Mr. Rahamatullah was rushed to a private hospital here, where he was declared brought dead by doctors. The body was later moved to the General Hospital for an autopsy. He is survived by his wife and two children, aged four and two years.
