ANANTAPUR, MAY 14. Seven persons were killed on the spot when a lorry rammed a stranded tourist bus and ran over the victims who were sleeping in front of the bus. The incident occurred near Somandepalli on National Highway 7 in the district today. According to the police, the tourist bus was stranded between Nadimpalli and Gollapalli villages after it ran out of fuel. A couple of persons went to fetch diesel and the remaining tourists were taking rest when the mishap occurred. The dead were Akbar (35), bus driver who hailed from Hindupur; and Chandramma (60), Srinath (22), Jagadish (15), Hanumakka (48), Rudresh (28) and Venkatesh (30) from Gouribidanur and surrounding villages in Kolar district of Karnataka.
