CHENNAI, MAY 14. A 22-year-old woman from Madurai has appealed to the City Police Commissioner, R. Nataraj, seeking protection from her father and to investigate the `disappearance' of her husband. Rosaline Selvarasi, a final year medical student of Universal College of Medical Education in Nepal, submitted a petition to the Commissioner stating that she had sought his help as personnel in the Selaiyur police station near Tambaram, had not take action on her complaint. She married Pratap at a church at Besant Nagar in April last. Pratap was working in the city and was staying in Selaiyur. Last month, she received e-mail from her friends in Chennai that her husband had gone missing from his house. Rosaline came to Chennai and lodged the complaint. Stating that she was staying in a women's organisation in Kolathur for the past few days, Rosaline alleged that her father had threatened the organisation's staff against providing accommodation to her. Rosaline appealed to Mr. Nataraj to provide adequate protection to her.
