NEW DELHI, MAY 14. The Deputy Commissioner of Police, North Delhi, Sanjay Baniwal, has been promoted to the rank of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) and transferred to Mizoram, while the South Delhi Deputy Commissioner of Police, Vivek Gogia, has been transferred to the Foreigners' Regional Registration Office (FRRO). He would replace Sandeep Goel, who has been transferred to the Intelligence Bureau. While it has not been decided yet who would replace Mr. Baniwal and Mr. Gogia, it is learnt that some more transfers and promotions are on cards. According to senior police officers, the Joint Commissioner of Police, Amod Kanth, might be sent outside the Capital, whereas the present Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch), B.K. Gupta, might be promoted to the rank of Special Commissioner of Police.
