Fake currency racket busted
NALGONDA,
MAY 15.
The district police arrested six persons on the charge of circulating fake currency at Bhongir today.
Addressing a press conference, the Superintendent of Police, N. Balasubrahmanyam, said R. Anjaiah who was arrested before on a similar charge was the kingpin. The arrested were: R. Anjaiah, Ch. Dinakar, N. Srinivas, Ch. Rajeshwar Sharma, P. Raju and M. Anjaneyulu. The police recovered Rs. 1 lakh fake currency of different denominations. According to the police, Anjaiah ganged up with one Peda Babu of Guntur and Govardhan Reddy of Nandigama who were main accused in the crime. The latter was recently arrested by the Hyderabad police while the former was at large.
