Exhibition to help students choose career planned

By Our Staff Reporter

PONDICHERRY, MAY 15. The Pondicherry Administration has decided to organise an exhibition through the Employment Exchange to bring to focus `the various courses available for students after their pass in SSLC or Matriculation and Plus-Two public examination,' under the scheme of `Career Guidance.'

The Director of Employment and Training, Rattan Singh said in a release here on Friday that the exhibition would be held on Gandhi Thidal near the seashore here on May 17 and would go on for a few days.

Delegates of professional colleges, Arts and Science colleges, polytechnic colleges and also the ITIs from different parts of Pondicherry and Tamil Nadu would camp at the exhibition at their respective stalls to explain to the students on what they could do after the qualifying examinations and the courses their institutions were offering. Mr. Rattan Singh said that candidates who have come out successful at the Plus-Two public examination (result of which was released on May 12) held in March this year could register their names on the rolls of the Employment Exchange. The Labour Department has made special arrangements for the registration by such candidates from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on all working days. Candidates could present to the officers deployed for the work to enter the names of the candidates, their mark sheets of the public examinations, Caste or Community certificates, and family ration cards.
