Trial in Bofors case to begin on June 9

NEW DELHI,
MAY 15.
The trial in the Rs. 64-crore Bofors gun deal case against the Hinduja brothers and the erstwhile A.B. Bofors will begin on June 9.
The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM), Reena Singh Nag, on Friday fixed the date for recording of evidence by the prosecution witnesses.
The three Hinduja brothers Srichand, Gopichand and Prakashchand are facing trial in the case on charges of criminal conspiracy and criminal conspiracy coupled with cheating.
Ms. Nag had on March 26, framed the charges against the brothers.
Besides, she framed the forgery charge against A.B. Bofors, supplier of the gun, for fabricating a document called ``settlement agreement.''
