Rain likely in South Coastal T.N.

CHENNAI, MAY 15. Rainfall occurred at a few plces over Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Lakshadweep and Coastal and South Interior Karnataka. Isolated rainfall occurred over coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema.

Mainly dry weather prevailed over Telangana and North Interior Karnataka. Erode recorded a heavy rainfall of 8 cms.

The other chief amounts of rainfall recorded in cms are: Valparai, Sankaridurg (Salem dt.), Karur Paramathi and Hassan 4 each, Namakkal, Bhavani (Erode dt.), Attur (Salem dt.), Panambur and Kudligi (Bellary dt.) 3 each, Adiramapattinam, Needamangalam and Tiruthuraipoondi (both Thiruvarur dt.), Ramanathapuram, Dharmapuri, Gudalur Bazaar (Nilgiris dt.), Jayamkondan (Perambalur dt.), Melur (Madurai dt.), Sattur (Virudhunagar dt.), Manaparai (Thiruchirapalli dt.), Subramanya (Dakshina Kannada dt.) and Kottur (Bellary dt.) 2 each and Thanjavur, Pudukottai, Perundurai (Erode dt.), Uthagamandalam, Sendamangalam (Namakkal dt.), Peraiyur (Madurai dt.), Dindigul, Sivagangai, Karwar, Belthangadi and Mani (both Dakshina Kannada dt.), Hagaribommonahalli (Bellary dt.), Hindupur (Ananthapur dt.), Pattambi (Palakkad dt.) and Kozhikode 1 each.

On Friday, the maximum temperature fell largely at one or two places over South Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, fell markedly at one or two places over rest South Coastal Andhra Pradesh, North Coastal Tamil Nadu, fell appreciably at one or two places over rest North Tamil Nadu, rest Rayalaseema, North Interior Karnataka, fell at one or two places over Telangana, coastal Karnataka, South Interior Karnataka, Interior Tamil Nadu and rose at one or two places over North Coastal Andhra Pradesh and changed a little elsewhere over the region.

FORECAST (Valid until Monday morning): Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at a few places over south coastal Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, Kerala, Lakshadweep and coastal and South Interior Karnataka.

Isolated rain or thundershowers are likely to occur over Andhra Pradesh and North Interior Karnataka.
