Soldier guns down superiors

LUCKNOW, MAY 15. A soldier attached to an infantry brigade here allegedly shot dead his two immediate seniors and injured another following an argument over guard duty.

Police sources said Naik Sripal Singh fired six rounds from his assault rifle at Subedar Labh Chand and Naib Subedar Unnikrishnan and Company Havaldar Major (CHM) Munna Lal over posting him on guard duty daily.

They were sent to the Army hospital, where Labh Chand and Unnikrishnan died of their wounds. The accused has been arrested.
