CHENNAI, MAY 15. The Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) founder, S. Ramadoss, today expressed the hope that the country would regain its secular image and register spectacular achievements in the domestic and international arena under the leadership of the Congress president, Sonia Gandhi. In a message of greetings to Ms. Gandhi on her election as leader of the Congress Parliamentary Party, Dr. Ramadoss said he was delighted that his assertion that she would don the mantle of prime ministership was vindicated. It would be a great tribute to the decisive verdict of the people if she assumed office as Prime Minister. Recalling that he was the "first leader" of a political party in the State to proclaim that Ms. Gandhi would be the next Prime Minister, Dr. Ramadoss wished her good luck in her nation-building endeavour.
