BANGALORE, MAY 15. Some persons allegedly tied the hands and legs of an elderly woman and took away articles worth Rs. 27,000 and Rs. 2,000 in cash from her house in Jnana Bharathi police station limits on Saturday. The police said the culprits came to the house of Puttamma when she was alone and sought to know whether they could fix the main gate, which was pending for some time. She asked them to come later. But they followed her into the house and bolted the main door. They reportedly tied her hands and legs with wires and escaped with valuables. The Deputy Commissioner of Police (West), K.V. Sharathchandra, said the miscreants were local people. A team of forensic experts visited the spot.
