ANANTAPUR, MAY 16. The district is experiencing widespread rain since Saturday afternoon providing the much needed respite to the people from the scorching summer. According to the officials a majority of the mandals in the district recorded rain on Saturday. The rainfall recorded in some of the mandals is as follows: Kadiri (57 mm), Mudigubba (41), Talupula (42.8), Nallacheruvu (29), O.D.Cheruvu (15), Amadaguru (26), Gandlapenta (25), Anantapur (21), Rapthadu (57.2), Garladinne (25), Atmakur (41.2), Kudair (52), Singanamala (24), B.K.Samudram (26), Narpala (26), Yadiki (13), Putlur (14.4), Yellanur (15.2), Pamidi (36), Uravakonda (11), Dharmavaram (19.4), Bathalapalli (10), C.K.Palli (15), Kanaganapalli (12), Beluguppa (21), Kundurpi (19.2), Kambadur (49.2), Rayadurg (16), D.Hirehal (48.2), Gummaghatta (10.4), Bommanahal (11.2) and Gorantla (12.4). The district also received rainfall in different parts on Sunday evening.
