Lakshmi Parvati immerses NTR's ashes in Cauvery

By Our Staff Correspondent

MYSORE, MAY 16. Lakshmi Parvati, widow of the late Andhra Pradesh chief minister N.T. Rama Rao, today immersed his ashes in the Cauvery at Paschimavahini near Srirangapatana in Mandya district of Karnataka. She alleged Chandrababu Naidu was responsible for the "misfortune" that befell NTR and his death in 1996. She had taken a vow that the ashes would be immersed in the Cauvery and the Ganga only after Mr. Naidu's downfall in politics. Ms. Parvati was joined by her son, Koteshwar Prasad, in the ceremony. Ms. Parvati told mediapersons she did not feel disappointed over her defeat as a TDP-NTR candidate in the Assembly elections.
