Hike in entrance fee likely

By Our Staff Correspondent

MYSORE, MAY 16. The renovation and upgradation of the Brindavan Gardens at Krishna Raja Sagar reservoir may bring joy to the tourists, but it comes with a price. The authorities are mulling over an increase in the entrance fee.

Though a decision in this regard has not been taken, the Managing Director of Cauvery Neeravari Nigam, T. Thimme Gowda, said that the increase in entrance fee seemed imminent. He said that the money invested on the renovation of the gardens had to be raised as a loan, and that fee had to be increased to pay back the loan. The revenue from the gardens did not match the expenditure on their maintenance, he added.
