BJP stock-taking meet on May 19

By Our Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD, MAY 16. Top leaders of the State BJP, comprising office- bearers and national executive members, would meet here on May 19 to look into the causes for the severe drubbing received by the party in the Assembly and Lok Sabha elections and chalk out the future course of action.

The former BJP president, Bangaru Laxman, P.V. Chalapathi Rao, K. Hari Babu and C. Ramachandra Reddy, are the national executive members, who would attend the brainstorming session, apart from zonal in-charges, according to the State BJP leader, G. Kishen Reddy.

He said the meeting would also finalise the programme for holding the State executive, district-wise review sessions and a meeting of contestants. State leaders would visit various districts for review sessions.

The party would focus on organising training classes on ideological issues in a bid to motivate the cadre and rejuvenate the organisation.

Meanwhile, the TDP president, N. Chandrababu Naidu, told Mr. Kishen Reddy, when the latter called on him, that there was no need for the rank and file of the two parties to feel dispirited over the poll debacle. He was reported to have said that the two parties should continue to work together and fight for people's causes. Mr. Reddy said it was only a courtesy call.
