Karvadu wins men's title

HYDERABAD, MAY 16 . Karvadu of Andhra Pradesh Police won the title in the men's category in the seventh summer road race competitions organised by the Athletic Coaching Academy (ACA) here on Sunday. About eight hundred athletes in various age groups took part in the races. P. Gopi Chand, former All England badminton champion, was the chief guest at the programme.

The results:

Men (6kms): 1. Karvadu (A.P. Police); 2. Ajay Kumar (SAI Hostel); 3. B. Chandriah (RRC).

Boys: Under 16 (3kms): 1. Sai Kiran (10KF club); 2. Abdul Rawoof (10KF club); 3 P. Sekhar (Railway Boys club). Under-13 (1.5kms): 1. P. Satyanarayana (10KF club); 2. S.K. Shakeel (10KF club) 3. Krupakar (Railway Boys Club). Under-10 (1.5kms): 1. Shiva Kumar (Pulla Reddy Club); 2. N. Sai Kuma (10KF Club); 3. Amer Shakeel (KVS).

Veterans: Men (forty plus — 1.5kms): 1. P. Raju (10KF club) ; 2. S. Rai (Hyderabad ); 3. Venkat (Central Excise). 50-plus: 1. Kushal Sharma (ACA); 2. Dwarkanath (Hyderabad); 3. Sunderajan (SBI).

Women (3kms): 1. M. Soujanya (ACA); 2. A.V.N. Poornima (ACA): 3. Naga Anita (ACA);
