VIJAYAWADA, MAY 16. The Executive Director of APSRTC Krishna Region, B. Sitaram, on Sunday, urged the employees to put in their best efforts to ensure that the organisation once again turns into a profit-making unit. Addressing the third zonal conference of the National Mazdoor Union, here, Mr. Sitaram said that unless employees contributed their best, no organisation could achieve its optimum best. The general secretary of the NMU, P. Ramohan Rao, in his address expressed serious concern over the illegal plying of private buses, which were cutting into the revenue of the corporation. He asked the Government to take steps to curb the activities of private operators. Assuring the wholehearted cooperation of employees and workers for improving the passenger occupancy ratio, Mr. Rao urged the corporation to phase out outdated buses to improve fuel efficiency rate and safety of passengers. Mr. Rao also wanted the management to fill up vacant posts. The Regional Manager of the Krishna Region, U. Sudakara Rao, was present.
