COIMBATORE, MAY 16. Three persons, including a woman, were injured and four houses were set ablaze in a clash between two groups of persons belonging to different castes at Kalapatti in rural Coimbatore here today. Muthan (50), Ramesh (20) and Valliammal (60) received cut injuries from weapons used during the attack on a group of 25 houses. The reason for the attack is not immediately known. The Superintendent of Police, R. Dhinakaran, visited the spot and assured the local people that action would be taken against the culprits and that necessary security arrangements would be made to maintain peace.
