Pensioners seek arrears
By Our Staff Reporter
HYDERABAD,
MAY 17.
The Andhra Pradesh Pensioners Associations hailed the Congress victory and stated that with the defeat of the Telugu Desam Government, the self-respect of pensioners in the State had been restored.
At a press conference here on Monday, T. Gopala Krishna Murty, A. Pratap Reddy, and
Mohan, the president, vice-president and secretary-general respectively, of the association, said that the Congress had magnanimously announced much before the elections, that if it came to power, the arrears of Dearness Relief (DR) would be released.
They urged the Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, to bring cheer to the pensioners by releasing the DR arrears.
